Betsy Frantz is Vice President of Development and President of the Virginia Hospital Center Foundation, the philanthropic and fundraising arm of the Hospital. In these roles, she leads the Hospital’s efforts to build relationships and partnerships across Northern Virginia and the Washington, DC, metro area to advance medical excellence through philanthropy.

Prior to joining Virginia Hospital Center, Ms. Frantz was founding director and President/CEO of Leadership Center for Excellence (formerly Leadership Arlington) since its inception in 1998. Under her leadership, the Center expanded from a single leadership program serving Arlington County to a national leadership center model with more than 1,600 graduates representing 600+ organizations.

Ms. Frantz is a nationally recognized speaker, coach and consultant. She is the recipient of numerous honors including the national “Preceptor Award for Innovation” from the Association of Leadership Programs, the “Person of Vision” award from Arlington County’s Commission on the Status of Women, the Kiwanis Club of Arlington’s Community Service Award, and the Arlington Rotary Club’s “Light Up Arlington” award.

She received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies from the College of William and Mary. Her extensive board service includes the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce, Virginia Hospital Center’s Women’s Health Empowerment Circle Advisory Board, and the Junior League of Northern Virginia Community Advisory Board. She is a graduate of LEAD Virginia in 2007 and Leadership Fairfax in 1996.
