Leadership Center for Excellence offers a multitude of programs for personal and professional development for any stage of the leadership continuum. By developing trained leaders who are committed to building, supporting and strengthening our region, we foster a sense of community, visionary leadership, partnership and collaboration that motivates participants to become agents of change. Leadership Center for Excellence has graduated more than 1,600 leaders representing over 600 organizations across the region.
Designed for established leaders, Leadership Arlington is a nine-month program, which promotes a strong commitment to strengthening and building our community. A balanced class of approximately 50 leaders from the private, public and nonprofit sectors ensures diverse perspectives and opportunities as participants experience personal and professional development through an issues-based curriculum combined with a unique skill-building component.
Young Professionals Program
The Young Professionals Program invests in high-potential leaders in the DC Metropolitan area. This program provides the opportunity to develop new professional skills and capacities, while also acquiring the tools, visibility and network necessary to engage in their broader community. Participants are encouraged to discover ways they may give back to our community as we cultivate this next generation of leaders to become a force in our region.
The Leadership Arlington Youth Program, powered by Leadership Center for Excellence, is designed to enhance leadership skills and awareness of the need for philanthropy, community service and civic participation in rising high school juniors and seniors. For two weeks in the summer, the program meets at different public, private and nonprofit locations throughout Arlington County, exposing participants to diverse organizations and providing them the opportunity to meet with local leaders during this hands-on, experiential program. These experiences offer the students hands-on training and experiential learning.
