Betsy H. Sharon, JD, is a legal professional with more than 30 years of experience, currently serving as Executive Vice President, Compliance Officer and Counsel of Chain Bridge Bank, N.A. Additionally, Ms. Sharon serves as Chain Bridge Bank’s Privacy Community Reinvestment Act, and Chief Diversity Officers. She is a graduate of the American Bankers Association (ABA) Compliance School and the ABA Graduate School of Compliance Risk Management. She is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals. 

Ms. Sharon is currently a member of the Virginia Bankers Association Legal Affairs Committee. She has been admitted to both the Virginia and Georgia Bars. Ms. Sharon is a DMV Diversity and Inclusion Institute Fellow (2019) through the Leadership Center of Arlington. 

Ms. Sharon received her BA from Connecticut College where she graduated early and spent her junior year at the London School of Economics. She went on to receive her JD from Emory University School of Law and started her career as counsel to the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta and the Office of Thrift Supervision (“OTS”). At the OTS, she was appointed District Ethics Officer. 

Ms. Sharon served as corporate counsel and held various titles at Georgia Federal Bank, Prudential Insurance Company of America, Allfirst Bank, APS Healthcare, and various mortgage companies where she received outstanding service awards. Prior to joining Chain Bridge Bank in 2011, she was a Director and then Executive Director of a nonprofit corporation providing housing and social services to the homeless. 

Previously, Ms. Sharon held leadership roles as President of Financial Women International in Atlanta and as Chairman of the Advisory Council to the American Association of Residential Mortgage Regulators in DC. She was the Governor’s bank appointee to the Maryland Motor Vehicle Task Force.
